2018 SUMMIT
OVERVIEW

Every 40 seconds, a company gets hit by ransomware. While the scars from Wannacry and Shamoon are still fresh, another ransomware, Petya, has hit enterprises across the EU and is spreading fast to other countries. As in 2017, the current year is already being swept by a wave of advanced persistent threats that are far more sophisticated and disruptive to your operations than before. According to the World Economic Forum, after extreme weather conditions and natural disasters, cyberattacks represent the third-most-common global risk to economies in 2018. A minor lapse in cybersecurity means inviting a host of cyberthreats and malicious attacks that can cost your business dearly.

Saudi organizations have reached a stage of maturity where they acknowledge cybersecurity as no longer being IT-specific, but rather a fundamental business challenge, making it increasingly vital to proactively improve their security posture on an ongoing basis. With 2017 in the rear-view mirror, 2018 will undoubtedly bring its fair share of challenging cyber threats that, while negatively impacting businesses across industries, will also create pockets of opportunity for cyber security professionals to come together and solve challenges and help organizations mitigate risk. With the threat landscape becoming increasingly complex and volatile, especially with the proliferation of 3rd Platform technologies such as cloud, big data, mobile, and social, critical issues around security management, skills, and implementations need to be effectively addressed.

Digital transformation efforts within Saudi organizations are further adding to the cyberthreat concerns, as adoption of cutting-edge technologies significantly expands companies’ ICT perimeter, leaving them more vulnerable to cyberattacks. Cyber security will remain the top technology-related challenge for Saudi organizations, which will make it imperative for them to reevaluate their existing IT security investments while trying to rationalize cost, protect assets, and deploy new solutions within the organization.

Join us on May 7, 2018, at Burj Rafal Hotel Kempinski, Riyadh, to hear from IT security experts, analysts, and technology decision makers from across Saudi Arabia. The program will include detailed discussions on the challenges and opportunities brought about by the latest technology developments in security, new solutions and approaches, and how they fit into corporate businesses strategies.
